Going All In

Going All In...are you? We went through this series in Middle School at River Pointe Church a few weeks ago. I was looking back through some notes and wanted to share them with you. Forgive me for not being on here in a while, its been crazy hectic around here. God is doing some amazing things this summer!

In Luke 7.36, you will find a woman who went all in. Simon, the Pharisee, invited Jesus over for dinner. He knew the law and he knew the customs of the day, but he failed to do them when Jesus entered his house. A woman, who was said to be a prostitute, comes to his house to give Christ everything that she has. She knew Christ was coming and didn't want to pass up an opportunity to receive this gift that He was giving away. Here is a woman who was worthless in the sight of many people's eyes. But she came to go all in.

A couple of things we can learn from this story:
1)Apart from Christ we are nothing. You see Simon thought he was good since he was a pharisee. But the woman knew she was nothing without this Christ.

2) We should hold nothing back. Simon did nothing when Christ came to his house, he should've greeted Him with a kiss, washed his feet, and anointed Him with oil...but he didn't. The woman, she had no shame. She came into his house, washed his feet with her tears, she kissed his feet, and she anointed his feet with oil that was worth a year's wages! She held nothing back. We must throw our lives out there and live like there is no tomorrow...give everything that we have.

3)In the end, we WIN! Christ turned to the woman and said "I forgive your sins, your faith has saved you, go in peace."

Where are you at in your spiritual walk?
Are you like Simon, doing all this stuff…and holding back?
Or are you like the prostitute…going all in, holding nothing back?
When you are at school or work, do you go all in with your faith?
Or do you just go through the Christian motions?
Did you know that in the end, we win?
What does that look like, and how does that change how you live?
What will you do this week…sit back or GO ALL IN?

While Satan has a great bluff and seems to have it won, we can rest assured that we have the victory...when we GO ALL IN.

OneLove,
JNix
